I started the first Go ‘Gansett blog in 2014 as a hub for current happenings and things to do in Narragansett. It required a lot of daily upkeep which demanded time; time I did not have once the summer was over and I got a full-time job. It’s been a few years now and I wanted to find a new way to keep Go ‘Gansett alive.
The idea for a podcast struck me when a new shop opened up in town and I was talking with the owners. I realized that each year there are businesses that come and go, some stay and catch on, while others last a season then close their doors, and that these people have some amazing stories to tell. Who are they, where did they come from, how did they end up in here? “This would be great for a podcast,” I remember thinking. And not just stories of the people, but about the town itself. There is tremendous history here.
There is also tremendous beauty. I am inspired daily by the landscape that we are blessed to live in. One of the biggest draws to our town is its natural beauty. If you’re trying to share the experience of what it is like here, showcasing images is just as important. Plus they do say a picture says a thousand words!
Through the podcast and through our Instagram account, Go ‘Gansett will be a place to share the sights, sounds, and stories of a small town along the coast in Rhode Island; Narragansett.
Let’s get started!
